I agree. This really underscores the point being sometimes made by (and frequently subsequently buried in the press) female scientists, engineers and the like, bemoaning the fact that there are so few prominent female career role models. It’s a scam; on the one hand the only voice really being heard by young girls is the voice of women who say success is via being an influencer, a model, a bikini model, or by being naked either on cam or onlyfans or similar. And the worst part is it’s actually a lie — such a tiny percent of people doing these things actually make good money. It would be one thing if a handful of women made millions and the rest all made say, $5k a month — but that’s not even the case. Many women make peanuts. And then on top of all that, we have your very valid point that the mud sticks. It’s not just that you don’t make money; you have to pay extra in terms of stigma too.

It just makes you think how many young female brains are out there that are just a few steps from being a nobel winning scientist or an architect or a physicist or something, and then they were just sucked in and burned by this quick and easy money fantasy. It’s a shame.
